  1. I was wholly fascinated by Jane Poynter's presentation. How cool would it be to live in a manmade environment and have to maintain it. Spending all that time staring through the glass into the other biosphere must feel as though you are on an entirely differen planet. That kind of experience must be incredible. It's so much like Sci-Fi movies that I have seen. It really has me excited about the possibilities of human existance on the Moon or Mars.
I like the way that Poynter concluded. It's crazy to think that while you are sitting in a room with other people, you are taking in a part of them. Perhaps that's why we become offended when we are around someone that we are not fond of. It could be our body's inclination to want to flee, rather than breath them in. That might be a little existential, but I read a study recently which suggested that it's an evolutionary trait that causes us to want to avoid sick people. The feeling of unease that we get around people who are ill is our bodies' way of trying to make sure that it stays healthy.
The picture of Jane Poynter's back yard was neat. That's a nice way to appeal to people who live in areas that are similiar to hers. Basically, stop trying to maintain your yard, and let it do what it does naturally. Throw away the rake and grow some yard in Arizona. Very cool.

  2. This is so far my favorite video from this blog. I loved to learn about this new experience which was the Biosphere 2.
Unfortunately we don't have a biosphere 2 to experience and compare with the Earth (where we live). Because of this we need to steep up and preserve our environment.
I love when the speaker says: "All the small stuff counts!". We should look at the world and try to understand where we are in this context, and how we choose to interact with it.
